Russian Language Studies

Learning Russian is a process which helps to develop closer links, relationships and communication between Cyprus and Russia, countries with common linguistic traditions and a rich culture.

Courses

The purpose of this course is to develop the ability to listen to and understand spoken Russian in a range of contexts and a variety of styles, to communicate in speech for a variety of purposes, to read and respond to different types of written language, to communicate in writing for a variety of purposes, to understand and apply a range of vocabulary and structures, to develop language learning and communication skills which can be applied broadly. By successfully completing this course students will have a substantial advantage for their future careers and will be able to take LAN 091 Russian Course.
Topic areas: house and home environment, room and classroom, acquaintances, family, free time and entertainment, education and studies, places, countries, nationalities and languages. Students will also become familiar with topic areas relating to numbers, shops, time, the calendar, weather and personal identification.
